Engine
Options and Capability
The Ford
F-150, with body panels and a sturdy truck bed made from high-strength aluminum
alloy in place of steel, is the lightest truck in its class. This means you can enjoy the benefits of
better fuel economy without sacrificing durability. But a lighter build isn't the only element
that brings this pickup truck improved efficiency.
The F-150
offers an array of exciting turbocharged and naturally aspirated engine
options, allowing you to choose the levels of power and performance that suit
your specific needs. There are five
available engines in total, spanning across six primary trim levels: XL, XLT,
Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited.Â
Auto Start-Stop Technology comes standard on each of
the F-150's engines. This feature shuts
off the engine when you stop in order to save fuel and starts up again when you
release the brake.
