How can I tell if my brakes need servicing?
Your vehicle's brakes are a vital part of your vehicle's performance and your own safety. It is important that your brakes are serviced properly when they are not up to par. Often, your car, truck, or SUV's brake light will light up on your dash, letting you know that your brakes are starting to wear. However, it is necessary to have your vehicle's brakes checked and tested regularly. Toycen Ford recommends regular inspections every six months or every 6,000 miles to ensure proper performance.
Watch out for common signs that your brake system needs servicing. Pay attention to any squealing or grinding noises, or if your brakes feel spongy or harder to press down. Other signs to look out for include if your vehicle is pulling to one side or if your steering wheel or brake pedal shakes when applying the brakes. Look out for your anti-lock brake system (ABS) warning light, as well. Â
